The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image projection device capable of effectively suppressing a temperature rise of an image irradiation unit caused by external light while maintaining the quality of a projected image. This image projection device is provided with: an image irradiation unit (10) that irradiates an image; a reflection/transmission unit (60) that reflects the irradiation light from the image irradiation unit (10) on the front surface and transmits the light from the rear surface; and an angle-dependent light transmission unit (40) in which the transmittance of light in a predetermined polarization plane varies depending on the incidence angle, the angle-dependent light transmission unit (40) being disposed on the optical path of the irradiation light from the image irradiation unit (10) to the reflective transmission unit (60).
