The diagnostic device includes one or more controllers (110) and is configured to: generate a torque demand signal (155) corresponding to a torque demand profile (300) configured to cause an actuator of the electromechanical actuator system to modify a suspension (402) of the vehicle; sending the torque demand signal to an electromechanical actuator system of the vehicle (404); recording a suspension characteristic of the vehicle in response to the application of the torque demand signal (406); and outputting the recorded suspension characteristics of the vehicle (408).
