The fast Fourier transform calculation module receives the processed wheel speed signal and generates a fast Fourier transform curve. The summing module selects a predefined range of fast Fourier transform curves, generates a reference curve from the predefined range of fast Fourier transform curves, and determines a sum of residuals between the real-time fast Fourier transform curve and the reference curve. And the regression model determines an estimated value of the tire tread depth according to the sum of the residual errors.
