The invention provides a buoy type water quality detection system which comprises an offshore mechanism and a shoreside base station, and the offshore mechanism can float on a to-be-detected water surface and is used for acquiring real-time water quality data at a preset position; the offshore mechanism comprises a power unit and a detection unit; the detection unit is used for detecting real-time water quality data at a preset position; the shoreside base station comprises a control unit and an equipment stop station, and the control unit is used for receiving real-time water quality data sent by the offshore mechanism and displaying or storing the real-time water quality data; and the equipment stop station is used for charging and energy storage of the offshore mechanism. Through the arrangement of the detection part, the water quality parameter sensor probe is in direct contact with the water body, the water quality detection precision is ensured, and the vertical distribution condition of the water quality of the water body can be directly obtained; through the arrangement of the lifting part, the detection part can be controlled to detect the water quality at the preset depth. And through the arrangement of the shoreside base station, the work such as equipment maintenance can be completed on the shore, and the workload and the safety risk of water surface operation are reduced.
