The invention discloses a train speed measurement and axle counting system based on a fiber bragg grating and a TEDS system control method, the train speed measurement and axle counting system comprises a fiber bragg grating demodulator and a fiber bragg grating speed measurement and axle counting sensor group arranged on a track, and the fiber bragg grating speed measurement and axle counting sensor group comprises a plurality of fiber bragg grating speed measurement and axle counting sensors which are connected in sequence; the fiber bragg grating speed measurement axle counting sensor group is used for collecting fiber bragg grating center wavelength change signals generated by steel rail deformation when train wheels pass through a rail; and the fiber bragg grating demodulator is used for obtaining the train speed and the train axle number according to the fiber bragg grating central wavelength change signal through a fiber bragg grating central wavelength change signal demodulation method. The method can be used for speed monitoring of a motor train unit operation fault dynamic image detection system, the image distortion probability is reduced, and the train detection efficiency of the system is improved.
