The invention relates to a device (1) for leakage current compensation, comprising at least one first active HV cell (3) and at least one second active HV cell (4), the at least one first active HV cell (3) being connected to a first potential (AC1) and the at least one second active HV cell (4) being connected to a second potential (AC2), wherein the at least one first active HV battery cell (3) or the plurality of first active HV battery cells (3) and the at least one second active HV battery cell (4) or the plurality of second active HV battery cells (4) are supplied with a VPE potential by means of respective connection terminals (7, 8), wherein a leakage current (9) is measured by means of a measuring circuit (2) and is added to an output (11) of a set feed-forward controller (10) and is supplied as a current setpoint (12) to the active HV battery cells (3, 4). A method for leakage current compensation is also provided.
