The invention discloses an online detection method for a power battery of a new energy automobile, and the method specifically comprises the following steps: S1, data collection: monitoring the power battery of the automobile through a diagnosis chip and a front-end parameter sampling unit which are disposed on the new energy automobile, and transmitting the collected parameters; the invention relates to the technical field of battery detection. According to the online detection method for the power battery of the new energy automobile, a strategy algorithm of online fault diagnosis is improved, and a required fault threshold value and diagnosis delay time are intelligently optimized according to the fault degree of the battery, so that the aims of quickly responding to a serious fault and slowly responding to a slight fault are fulfilled; and interference of some pulse signals and pinpoint burrs in sampling and data transmission processes can be effectively filtered, so that damage and harm caused by abnormal faults can be timely and effectively avoided on the premise of ensuring continuous and stable operation of the power battery.
