The invention provides a controllable overvoltage absorption device based on a traction system. The device comprises a power supply interface, a control module, a working module, a first thyristor and a second thyristor which are connected with a loop unit through a first input end of the power supply interface, and a second avalanche transistor and an avalanche transistor protection fuse which are connected with the working module through a second input end of the power supply interface, a main control unit is connected between the first thyristor and the second thyristor, so that the main control unit controls the loop unit to be connected and is connected with the working module when the input voltage is greater than the break-over voltage of the second avalanche transistor, the working module obtains the input voltage and eliminates the overvoltage in the input voltage, and the overvoltage amplitude is reduced to the clamping voltage; and the first avalanche transistor is also connected with the current-limiting resistor, so that the first thyristor and the second thyristor work in a safe state. According to the device, the efficiency of absorbing the interference overvoltage is improved, the stability and reliability of absorption are enhanced, the electric power supply equipment is protected, and the fault hidden danger of the electric equipment is reduced.
