The invention discloses a buffer mechanism for an elevator, and belongs to the field of elevators. Comprising an elevator body; the bottom plate is fixedly connected to the bottom of the elevator body; the base is provided with a sliding groove, the bottom plate is installed on the sliding groove in a sliding mode, second limiting grooves are formed in the two inner walls of the sliding groove respectively, and second limiting blocks corresponding to the second limiting grooves are fixedly connected to the bottom plate; and one ends of the four shock absorption dampers are fixedly connected to the four corners of the bottom of the bottom plate, and the other ends of the four shock absorption dampers are fixedly connected to the bottom walls of the sliding grooves. The four universal wheels are fixedly connected to the four corners of the bottom of the base; the two hinge plates are symmetrically hinged to the two ends of the base; the stabilizing seat is fixedly connected with the hinge plate; the first fixing hole is formed in the hinge plate; and the second fixing hole is formed in the hinged plate. The buffering mechanism for the elevator has the beneficial effect of being high in safety coefficient.
