The invention relates to the technical field of aerial work platforms, and discloses a folding platform safety control system and an aerial work platform, the folding platform comprises a main platform and an auxiliary platform which are movably connected, the auxiliary platform at least partially extends out of the main platform when in an unfolded state, and the auxiliary platform is stored in the main platform when in a folded state; the platform state detection device is used for detecting the working state of the auxiliary platform; the weighing sensor is used for detecting the load of the folding platform; the controller is in communication connection with the platform state detection device and the weighing sensor and is configured to obtain the working state of the auxiliary platform and the load of the folding platform; and selecting a corresponding allowable load value as an overload judgment threshold value according to the working state of the auxiliary platform, and determining the load state of the folding platform according to the size relationship between the load of the folding platform and the overload judgment threshold value. According to the folding platform safety control system and the aerial work platform, the bearing capacity of the platform can be effectively utilized.
