The invention relates to the technical field of underwater robot control, in particular to an underwater robot for ocean exploration and a control system thereof, the underwater robot comprises a sealed shell, an underwater power module, a data acquisition module, a communication module and an autonomous detection module, and the communication module comprises a first communication unit and a second communication unit; the second communication unit comprises a second communication shell, a wired communication assembly, a positioning assembly and a floating assembly. The invention further provides a control system of the underwater robot for ocean exploration, and the system can efficiently acquire underwater data, draw an underwater map and mark coordinates and ranges of underwater obstacles through combination of the communication acquisition module, the exploration marking module and the control module, so that ocean exploration work is more accurate and rapid.
