The invention relates to a sensor unit and a driving device for an electric bicycle and the electric bicycle. A sensor unit (20) for a drive device (5) for an electric bicycle (1) comprises a hub shaft (9, 10) coupleable to an electric motor (13, 14) of the drive device (5) and a housing element (62) rotatable about an axis of rotation (R) and adapted to form part of a motor housing (6, 15) for the electric motor (13, 14). The housing element (62) is coupled to the hub axle (9, 10) and has an opening through which the hub axle (9, 10) extends. The sensor unit (20) further comprises a first circuit board (21) and a second circuit board (22) adapted to detect a torque of a rider of the electric bicycle (1), where the printed circuit boards (21, 22) are coupled to the hub axle (9, 10) on opposite sides of the housing element (62) with respect to the axis of rotation (R) and at least partially surround the hub axle (9, 10).
