The invention provides an in-cabin detection method. The method comprises the following steps: sending a detection sending wave into a cabin by means of an ultrasonic sensing unit, and receiving a detection return wave; determining in-cabin characteristic data according to the received detection return waves; judging whether a target object exists in the cabin or not based on the detection reference data and the in-cabin characteristic data; wherein the detection reference data are configured to correspond to reference return waves received by the ultrasonic sensing unit when no target object exists in the cabin. According to the in-cabin detection method, under the condition of ensuring privacy protection and relatively low cost, whether the target object exists in the cabin or not can be judged. In addition, the invention further provides an in-cabin detection device, a computer program product and a motor vehicle, and the in-cabin detection device, the computer program product and the motor vehicle have the advantages corresponding to the in-cabin detection method.
