The invention relates to a vehicle detection method and device, computer equipment and a storage medium. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring the counting quantity of a counter connected with the linear array sensor at the power-on moment of the linear array sensor, and adjusting the operating parameters of the linear array sensor according to the counting quantity; wherein the counting quantity is used for representing the cumulative quantity of the image frames collected by the linear array sensor; acquiring environment brightness data, acquired by the linear array sensor, of a neighborhood time period corresponding to the current moment at the operation moment of the linear array sensor; according to the ambient brightness data of the neighborhood period corresponding to the current moment, determining whether there is a vehicle passing at the current moment; and under the condition that the vehicle passes at the current moment, controlling a camera to collect a vehicle image and carrying out vehicle detection according to the collected image. The method can improve the stability of vehicle detection.
