The invention relates to the technical field of steering systems, in particular to a steering-by-wire system rack force estimation method. A steering-by-wire system rack force estimation method comprises a signal preprocessing module, a rack force estimation module and an estimation result post-processing module, and is characterized in that the signal preprocessing module comprises rack displacement signal processing, rack speed signal processing and motor torque signal processing; the rack force estimation module comprises a steering system dynamics model and a Kalman filtering estimation method; the Kalman filtering estimation method is designed based on a state-space equation; and the estimation result post-processing module comprises estimation result filtering processing and estimation result phase compensation processing. Compared with the prior art, the steering-by-wire system rack force estimation method provided by the invention is based on accurate modeling, utilizes the Kalman filtering algorithm and sets correct parameters, so that the algorithm convergence is fast, and accurate estimation and timely estimation are realized under any driving working condition.
