A low-cost large-scale semi-submersible floating type offshore wind turbine belongs to the technical field of ocean engineering, aims to solve the problem of optimization of steel consumption configuration of the large-scale semi-submersible floating type offshore wind turbine, and is characterized in that the upper end part of a tower structure supports a wind turbine generator set, and a floating type foundation is connected with the lower end part of the tower structure to support the tower structure; the mooring system is connected with the floating foundation, the bottom face of the first stand column is in transition connection with the first end of the main bottom buoy with the axis parallel to the horizontal plane in a non-vertical connection mode, and the second stand column is in transition connection with the first end of the side bottom buoy with the axis parallel to the horizontal plane in a non-vertical connection mode. And the third stand column is transitionally connected to the second end of the side bottom buoy of which the axis is parallel to the horizontal plane in a non-vertical connection manner, so that the steel quantity configuration optimization is realized, the steel cost is obviously reduced, the stress concentration at the joint of the stand column and the bottom buoy is reduced, and meanwhile, the aims of considerable water discharge and easiness in assembly are fulfilled; and particularly, the stability requirement of the platform can be met.
