The invention discloses a driving mode switching method based on driver take-over. The driving mode switching method comprises the steps that whether a take-over behavior of a driver exists or not is continuously detected; under the condition that the vehicle driving control system is in an automatic driving mode, if it is detected that the take-over behavior of a driver exists currently, the automatic driving mode is switched into an auxiliary driving mode; under the condition that the vehicle driving control system is in the auxiliary driving mode, if it is detected that no taking-over behavior of the driver exists currently and the duration time exceeds the first time, the driver is prompted that the driving mode is about to be switched, and after confirmation feedback of the driver is received, the current driving mode is switched into the automatic driving mode. The invention further discloses a corresponding system and a storage medium. By implementing the method and the device, switching between the automatic driving mode and the auxiliary driving mode can be performed based on whether the driver takes over the vehicle or not, so that the safety and the convenience of the automatic driving vehicle are improved.
