An estimation device detects, by means of a detection unit, electrical characteristics between a plurality of detection points of a vehicle seat provided with a flexible material that has electrical conductivity and that changes in accordance with a change in applied pressure. The estimation unit estimates the posture state of the occupant of the vehicle seat on the basis of the electrical characteristics of the vehicle seat using the learning model. A learning model is obtained by using, as learning data, electrical characteristics when pressure is applied to a vehicle seat and posture state information indicating the posture state of an occupant applying pressure to the vehicle seat, and by learning such that the electrical characteristics are input and the posture state information is output. The electrical characteristics are learned to be input, and the posture state of the occupant corresponding to the input electrical characteristics is output.
