A system for interpreting colors includes a camera for capturing an image of an environment and a controller in electrical communication with the camera. The controller is programmed to: capture an image of the environment using the camera, where the image includes an object; retrieving a color calibration matrix from a non-transitory storage medium of the controller; and determining a color of the object in the environment based at least in part on the color calibration matrix and the environment image.
