A main body structure of the added elevator comprises a connected shaft, a buffer, a limiting stopper, a guide rail, a main bearing wheel, a guide wheel, a machine room, an elevator control cabinet, a home-entry corridor interface, a left traction machine, a left lift car, a right traction machine and a right lift car, wherein the buffer, the limiting stopper, the guide rail, the main bearing wheel, the guide wheel, the machine room and the elevator control cabinet are arranged in the connected shaft; the home-entry corridor interface is arranged between the connected shaft and a staircase of an existing building; a counter-weight block and a counter-weight mechanism are omitted, so that the gap between the lift car and the hoistway is minimum, only one of the left traction machine and the right traction machine can load to pull the left lift car and the right lift car which are mutually counter-weight to operate at the same time, the right lift car moves downwards at the same time when the left lift car moves upwards, and a 0-millimeter pit or a negative pit is achieved.
