The invention relates to a hybrid vehicle and a method of controlling engine stop of the hybrid vehicle. The method comprises the steps of judging whether a first condition and a second condition are met or not; applying a negative torque to the motor when the first condition and the second condition are satisfied; predicting the occurrence of reverse rotation of the engine; and applying a feedback torque satisfying the target behavior of the engine to the motor when the occurrence of the reverse rotation is predicted.
