The invention relates to an electropneumatic brake system (202) for a vehicle (200), preferably a commercial vehicle (201), comprising:-a parking brake system (520) comprising a parking brake valve unit (24) which is designed to control a parking brake pressure (pPB) on at least one spring energy store connection (21) depending on a pilot pressure (pSV), wherein-the parking brake valve unit (24) has a pilot unit (8), which regulates a pilot pressure (pSV) to a pilot path (47) as a function of an electronic parking brake signal (SF), and wherein the parking brake valve unit (24) has an additional brake pressure connection (38), which connects the pilot pressure (pSV) to the pilot path (47), an additional brake pressure connection (38) which is pneumatically connected or can be pneumatically connected to the pilot path (47) for introducing an emergency release pressure (pN), the introduction of the emergency release pressure (pN) at the additional brake pressure connection (38) causing the parking brake pressure (pPB) to be regulated at the at least one spring accumulator connection (21), and a first control unit (410) which is connected or can be pneumatically connected to the pilot path (47) for controlling the parking brake pressure (pPB) at the at least one spring accumulator connection (21), an electro-pneumatic brake system (202) which is designed to provide an electronic parking brake signal (SF) to the parking brake valve unit (24), the electro-pneumatic brake system (202) having an emergency release valve unit (1), the emergency release valve unit is designed to receive a service brake pressure (pB), which is provided by the service brake system (510) and is effective for the service brake (BB), or a pressure (pB1), which is derived from the service brake pressure (pB), and to provide an emergency release pressure (pN) to the additional brake pressure connection (38) as a function of the received electronic emergency release signal (SN).
