A parking brake device is provided with: a fluid unit configured so as to include a fluid pump that sucks brake fluid from a master cylinder using a first electric motor as a power source, and a pressure regulating valve that increases the pressure of the brake fluid discharged from the fluid pump and supplies the pressure to a wheel cylinder as brake fluid pressure; a fluid unit that generates a braking force by pressing a friction member against a rotating member fixed to a wheel by a braking fluid pressure; an electric unit that generates a braking force on a parking wheel, among the wheels, that causes a parking brake to function, using a second electric motor as a power source; and a controller that controls the fluid unit and the electric unit. When the parking brake is operated, the controller increases only the brake hydraulic pressure corresponding to the parking wheel in the wheel cylinder.
