A docking mechanism for large and medium spacecrafts relates to the field of spacecrafts and comprises an active spacecraft and a passive spacecraft, the active spacecraft is connected with a second fixing disc through a buffer mechanism, the passive spacecraft is connected with a third fixing disc, and a first locking mechanism and a second locking mechanism are arranged between the second fixing disc and the third fixing disc; the first locking mechanism comprises a guide cone connected to the second fixing disc, a cone receiving cylinder connected to the third fixing disc and a chuck lock connected between the third fixing disc and the passive spacecraft, and after the guide cone is inserted into the cone receiving cylinder, the chuck lock is used for locking the end of the guide cone; the second locking mechanism comprises a plurality of mechanical claws connected to the second fixing disc and a plurality of handles connected to the third fixing disc, and each mechanical claw is used for tightly holding one handle. The butt joint mechanism is simple in structure, large in locking force and high in butt joint success rate.
