A system for determining when a passenger having a color vision defect in a vehicle needs additional information includes a plurality of perceptual sensors in the vehicle adapted to collect data relating to a physical identity of a primary object, and communicating the data related to the physical identity of the primary object to a data processor within the vehicle via a communication bus, the data processor is adapted to determine, based on the data relating to the physical identity of the primary object, that the physical identity of the primary object may be unclear for a passenger having a color vision defect, and help should be provided to the passenger with the color vision defect to assist the passenger with the color vision defect in identifying the primary object.
