The invention relates to a sealing device (12) consisting of a lip seal (20) and a spring (21) or another elastic seal which radially and axially compresses the first seal so as to form two sealing lines (25, 25) closed on substantially flat surfaces (14, 17) opposite in the direction of the axis of a protected rolling bearing (8). The device is small and light in weight and can bear centrifugal force in the transverse direction of the rolling bearing. Any further components for securing it may be omitted. And the space requirement is reduced, and the assembly is easy. The device is suitable for the blade root of the variable-pitch propeller.
