The invention discloses a multi-modal analysis method for trajectory data of an automatic driving vehicle. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, obtaining an instantaneous line quantity and an instantaneous angular quantity of each vehicle; and step 2, establishing Gaussian distribution functions of the instantaneous linear quantity and the instantaneous angular quantity, and determining a motion mode of each vehicle based on a relationship between a data mean value and a variance in the Gaussian distribution functions of the instantaneous linear quantity and the instantaneous angular quantity. According to the method, the motion behaviors of the vehicle can be classified under different conditions, and accurate and reliable data support is provided for key technologies such as path planning and control decision making of an automatic driving system.
