The invention relates to a method for determining position and vital parameters of an occupant of a motor vehicle (10) and to a motor vehicle (10) having a radio system and a control unit (12) connected to the radio system. According to the invention, it is provided that during operation of the motor vehicle (10), a channel impulse response (CIR) measurement-based method is carried out using at least two UWB antennas (14, 16) in order to determine position and vital parameters of one or more occupants of the motor vehicle (10).
