One or more embodiments include techniques for automating a vehicle routine. The technique includes receiving a rule including one or more deterministic elements and machine learning elements; during operation of the vehicle, collecting a set of vehicle data based on the machine learning elements; a machine learning model corresponding to the machine learning element is trained using the set of vehicle data, wherein the machine learning model is used to process the machine learning element during execution of the rule.
