Provided is a method for measuring the amount of wear of a groove (13) formed in a metal drive sheave (6). The measurement method includes: a first step of causing the sensor (21) to face a reference surface facing a direction opposite to a direction in which the bottom surface (30) of the groove (13) faces; and a second step in which, after the first step, the thickness of the metal, which is the distance between the bottom surface (30) and the reference surface, is measured by the sensor (21). The measurement method may further include a third step in which, after the second step, the drive sheave (6) is replaced when the thickness measured by the sensor (21) is less than a reference value.
