The invention relates to a braking method, a controller, a braking system, a vehicle and a storage medium, and the braking method comprises the steps that operation information of the vehicle is obtained, and the operation information comprises triggering information and motor state information; when the trigger information meets a preset trigger condition, a braking mode is determined according to the motor state information, and the braking mode is any one of motor braking, electro-hydraulic hybrid braking and hydraulic braking; and performing braking control according to the braking mode. Therefore, the vehicle can preferentially use the motor for braking under the condition that the motor is normal. Compared with hydraulic braking, motor braking is faster in response, energy generated during motor braking can be used for charging a battery, the energy can be recycled and clean, and the economical efficiency of the whole vehicle can be effectively improved.
