The invention relates to an anti-falling control device and method for a hoisting mechanism of a crane, the anti-falling control device mainly comprises a worm gear coaxial with a winding drum of the hoisting mechanism, the worm gear is meshed with a worm, and the worm is driven by a worm motor; when the hoisting mechanism works normally, the worm motor controls the rotating speed of the worm to be matched with the rotating speed of the worm gear; and when the hoisting mechanism descends at an overspeed, the worm motor controls the rotating speed of the worm to be lower than the rotating speed of the worm gear or zero. According to the anti-falling control device and method for the hoisting mechanism of the crane, it can be ensured that no falling risk exists when the hoisting mechanism operates.
