A heater member (200) equipped with a functional material-containing layer is provided with: a honeycomb structure (10) that has an outer peripheral wall (11) and partition walls (14) that are disposed on the inner side of the outer peripheral wall (11) and that define a plurality of cells (13) that form flow paths extending from a first end surface (12a) to a second end surface (12b), and at least the partition walls (14) are made of a material having PTC characteristics; a pair of electrodes (30) provided on the first end surface (12a) and the second end surface (12b) of the honeycomb structure (10); and a functional material-containing layer (20) provided on the surface of the partition wall (14).
