A reinforced frame structure is bolted or otherwise coupled to replace a battery assembly of a vehicle, such as an electric vehicle, and provides sufficient longitudinal, lateral, and torsional stiffness to the vehicle when the battery assembly is removed from the vehicle. The reinforcement frame structure may be releasably attached to the vehicle after removal of the battery assembly. This allows the vehicle to be removed from the elevator and moved as the battery assembly is removed from the vehicle while minimizing potential damage to the vehicle.
