This magnetic sensor (1) is provided with: a magnetic field detection element (7) that detects a magnetic field generated by a magnet (2) that rotates about a central axis (C); and a substrate (10) having a first surface (P1) and a second surface (P2) which is a back surface of the first surface, the second surface (P2) including a first inclined surface (PK1) inclined with respect to the first surface. The magnetic field detection element (7) is provided along the first inclined surface. The magnets (2) are arranged at intervals from the central axis (C), and the polarities of the magnets (2) are alternately changed along the circumferential direction of the central axis. The first surface is substantially parallel to the central axis (C), and the first inclined surface is inclined at an average angle (theta) with respect to the first surface. In a plane orthogonal to the central axis (C), the magnetic field intensity at the installation position of the magnetic field detection element changes with the rotation of the magnet (2), and when the ratio of the maximum value to the minimum value of the magnetic field intensity in the plane is set as MFR, (1/Ks) * 0.8 < = MFR < = (1/Ks) * 1.2 (where Ks = sin [theta]) is defined as (1/Ks) * 0.8 < = MFR < = (1/Ks) * 1.2 (where Ks = sin [theta]).
