A trailer swing control system for a vehicle includes: a left front active suspension actuator; a right front active suspension actuator; a left rear active suspension actuator; a right rear active suspension actuator; an actuator control module configured to: determine, based on a traction angle between (a) a first longitudinal axis of a trailer towed to the vehicle and (b) a second longitudinal axis of the vehicle, a traction angle between (a) a first longitudinal axis of the trailer towed to the vehicle and (b) a second longitudinal axis of the vehicle; target vertical force of a left front active suspension actuator, target vertical force of a right front active suspension actuator, target vertical force of a left rear active suspension actuator and target vertical force of a right rear active suspension actuator are determined respectively; and selectively adjusting a left front active suspension actuator, a right front active suspension actuator, a left rear active suspension actuator, and a right rear active suspension actuator, respectively, based on the target vertical force.
