The invention discloses a steering column with controllable crumple force. The steering column comprises a column pipe mechanism, a rotating shaft mechanism, a support mechanism, a handle mechanism, an axial soft limit, a rivet, a long bolt and a rolling cam. The handle mechanism provides preset tightening torque for the long bolt, when the steering column collapses, the tightening torque provides collapsing friction force between the upper column pipe and the lower column pipe, and the resultant force of the collapsing friction force and the shearing force of the rivet provides collapsing peak force. The resultant force of the crumple friction force and the friction force between the rolling cam and the upper column pipe provides crumple lasting force. The crumple force of the steering column is controllable by adjusting the preset crumple friction force, the crumple peak force and the crumple lasting force. According to the steering column with the controllable crumpling force, the cost of a crumpling mechanism of the steering column can be effectively reduced, the research and development period of the steering column can be shortened, the crumpling force of the crumpling stroke of the column can be accurately controlled, and great reference value is provided for cost control and safety improvement of the steering column.
