The invention provides a comfortable braking control system and control method for a vehicle. The vehicle has a plurality of selectable comfort braking levels, each comfort braking level containing one or more braking parameters corresponding to that comfort braking level. The comfortable brake control system includes a human-computer interaction interface configured to provide an interface for modifying the one or more brake parameters and to receive a modification of at least one of the one or more brake parameters; and a comfort braking module configured to determine whether the modification satisfies a safety requirement, and permit the modification when it is determined that the safety requirement is satisfied; and prohibiting the modification when it is determined that the security requirement is not met; and, the comfort braking module is further configured to assess a degree of comfort of vehicle braking after the modification if it is determined that the safety requirements are met.
