The invention relates to an operation method for a movable contact network with the telescopic length of a rotating cantilever device adjustable. The rotating cantilever device at least comprises a rotating cantilever body structure and a telescopic moving structure. The power supply body is directly or indirectly connected with the extensible and retractable moving structure; the rotating cantilever device can be driven to rotate, and in the process that the rotating cantilever device is driven or driven to rotate from the working position state to the non-working position state, or the rotating cantilever device is in the non-working state. The extensible and retractable moving structure can be pulled and/or pushed to partially or completely move and extend out relative to the rotating cantilever body structure so as to increase the overall length of the rotating cantilever device. The cantilever device can be effectively driven to further move towards the side edge of a railway, so that the space above the railway is effectively reserved, loading and unloading operation on a freight train is facilitated, and the safety of the freight train adopting hoisting equipment for loading and unloading operation is guaranteed.
