The method comprises the steps that when the acceleration of a vehicle and the acceleration of a target vehicle are not changed and the speed of the vehicle and the speed of the target vehicle in the direction perpendicular to a lane line are not changed, the first collision moment when the vehicle and the target vehicle are about to collide in the direction of the lane line and the second collision moment when the vehicle and the target vehicle are about to collide in the direction perpendicular to the lane line are calculated; detecting whether the vehicle and the target vehicle are in a to-be-collided area based on the first collision moment and the second collision moment; if the detection result is that the vehicle and the target vehicle are in the to-be-collided area, determining that there is a collision risk between the vehicle and the target vehicle; if the detection result is that the vehicle and the target vehicle are not located in the to-be-collided area, it is determined that no collision risk exists between the vehicle and the target vehicle. According to the method and the device, the accuracy of collision estimation in the vehicle driving process is improved, and the technical problem that the collision risk cannot be effectively judged in the prior art is solved.
