The invention discloses a self-adaptive control method for a pedestrian crossing signal lamp. The self-adaptive control method comprises the following steps: 1, acquiring data; 2, transmitting the obtained data to an intersection pedestrian crossing signal control system; 3, judging the phase of the green light through an algorithm; 4, determining the timing of the green light through an algorithm; and 5, circulating the steps, and determining the green light phase and timing of the next period. According to the invention, the phase and duration of the pedestrian crossing signal lamp are dynamically adjusted by comprehensively considering the number and waiting time of pedestrians and the number and waiting time of vehicles, so that the travel requirements of pedestrians and the traffic safety requirements of roads are better met; and a more intelligent and more efficient pedestrian crossing signal lamp management scheme is expected to be provided for an urban road traffic system, so that a safer and smoother travel environment is provided for pedestrians.
