The invention provides a road network traffic state estimation method and device based on online car-hailing big data, relates to the technical field of network car-hailing road network traffic states, and aims to efficiently estimate the road network traffic state based on the online car-hailing big data and realize visualization of the congestion probability of each road section. The method comprises the following steps: mapping online car-hailing GPS track data to road sections of an urban road network based on a grid map matching method so as to construct a road network sparse space-time velocity matrix; s2, complementing the road network sparse space-time velocity matrix based on a matrix complementing method to form a road network velocity estimation result; and S3, a congestion probability graph is drawn based on the road network speed estimation result, and congestion probability road sections in the urban road network are visualized. The road network traffic state estimation device based on the online car-hailing big data is applied to the road network traffic state estimation method based on the online car-hailing big data.
