The invention discloses a method and device for determining the residual capacity of a battery and a nonvolatile storage medium. The method comprises the steps that voltage values of a plurality of battery cells included in a target battery and a temperature value of the target battery are obtained, and the target battery is located in the electric vehicle; determining a reference voltage value in the voltage values of the plurality of battery cells; according to the reference voltage value, the temperature value of the target battery and a predetermined battery capacity attribute table, the residual capacity value of the target battery is determined, the battery capacity attribute table comprises a plurality of temperature values, each temperature value in the plurality of temperature values corresponds to a plurality of voltage values, and the plurality of voltage values respectively correspond to a plurality of battery residual capacity values. The technical problem that the influence of environmental factors on the battery capacity is not comprehensively considered when the battery residual capacity is determined is solved.
