Specifically, the invention comprises means for coupling and/or decoupling the action of at least one auxiliary engine with the shaft allowing, in the coupled state, the shaft to receive auxiliary traction from the auxiliary engine or the auxiliary engine to act as a generator of regenerative braking energy, and, in the decoupled state, the shaft to receive auxiliary traction from the auxiliary engine or the auxiliary engine to act as a generator of regenerative braking energy. The shaft is allowed to rotate freely such that no energy loss occurs due to friction of device components. The invention belongs to the field of mechanical engineering and focuses on the field of commercial vehicle solutions for transporting goods and passengers.
