The invention provides an ultrahigh-voltage charging pile which is used for performing charging pile self-inspection, and the self-inspection process comprises insulation detection; receiving handshake confirmation information with the vehicle battery management system; if no abnormity occurs in the charging pile self-checking process, a DC relay is closed, charging is started, in the charging process, battery charging demand parameters sent by a vehicle battery management system are received, charging voltage and current are adjusted according to the received parameters, and the parameters comprise vehicle battery SOC information; and receiving a message of reaching a full-charge state sent by the battery management system, and ending charging. The ultrahigh-voltage charging pile is safer and more convenient to use, and a vehicle battery can be protected.
