The invention relates to a fire detection system, aircraft and method. According to one aspect of the present invention, a fire detection system comprises: a fire detector configured to provide fire warning data relating to a potential fire within an aircraft cabin; a monitoring system configured to provide real-time monitoring data relating to cargo stored in a monitoring area of the aircraft cabin; a cargo tracking system configured to provide cargo data of the cargo stored in the monitoring area; an aircraft control system configured to provide aircraft status data; a system control device configured to evaluate the fire warning data, the cargo data and the aircraft status data in the event that the fire detector issues a fire alarm at least in an affected portion of the monitored area of the aircraft cabin and to provide a recommended remedial procedure based on the evaluation; and a display device configured to display the real-time monitoring data and the recommended remedial program to crew in the cockpit in the event of a fire alarm.
