The invention belongs to the technical field of intelligent motorcade control, and particularly relates to a motorcade control method based on automatic driving, and the method comprises the following steps: S1, controlling a motorcade to execute a first motorcade mode for driving, and monitoring the distance between vehicles in the motorcade; s2, when the vehicle distance changes suddenly, judging the traffic jam number, if the traffic jam number is smaller than or equal to a threshold value, executing the step S3, and otherwise, executing the step S4; s3, controlling the motorcade to execute a second motorcade mode for driving; s4, collecting traffic light distance data and current road traffic rate data, judging whether the traffic light distance data and the current road traffic rate data are suitable for passing of a long motorcade or not, if yes, executing the step S5, and if not, executing the step S6; s5, the motorcade is controlled to execute third motorcade mode driving; s6, the motorcade is controlled to execute fourth motorcade mode driving, the method can adapt to various driving road conditions, the system route is kept optimal in the dynamic adjustment process, and the motorcade system operation efficiency is improved.
