The invention relates to a method for operating a control system (300) of a vehicle, comprising at least the following: a brake mechanism (1) controlled by a brake controller, comprising a first brake actuator (50a) for a first drive wheel (98a) and a second brake actuator (50b) for a second drive wheel (98b); a steering brake function, by means of which the vehicle is steered by controlling the first brake actuator (50a) and/or the second brake actuator (50b) of the at least one driven shaft (HA) in a targeted manner; a drive slip control (ASR), by means of which an inadmissible drive slip on the first drive wheel (98a) and/or the second drive wheel (98b) of the at least one driven shaft (HA) is reduced by intervening a drive control (93) of the drive motor (94) and/or by intervening a brake control (14) of the brake mechanism (1). According to the invention, if the steering brake function on the at least one driven shaft (HA) is activated or has been activated, and if the drive slip control (ASR) on the at least one driven shaft (HA) is activated at this time, an intervention into the brake control unit (14) of the brake mechanism (1) is abandoned in the framework of the drive slip control (ASR).
