The invention discloses an automatic monitoring buoy and a using method, and belongs to the technical field of water quality monitoring equipment.The automatic monitoring buoy comprises a floating plate and signal receiving and transmitting equipment, a driving frame is rotationally connected to the floating plate, a plurality of sample cylinders are installed on the driving frame, a rotating mechanism is arranged on the driving frame, and detection equipment is further installed on the floating plate; one end of the detection equipment is connected with the lifting mechanism, the floating plate is provided with a sampling assembly, the sampling assembly comprises a water pump fixedly installed on the floating plate, the output end of the water pump is fixedly connected with a sample conveying pipe, and the other end of the sample conveying pipe is located above one sample barrel. According to the technical scheme, by arranging the sample cylinders, the sample conveying pipe and the rotating mechanism, due to the fact that the multiple sample cylinders are arranged, when water is monitored, the water can be fed into different sample cylinders to be temporarily stored and detected after being sampled every time, the probability that the water sample is polluted can be effectively reduced, and the accuracy of the detection result is improved.
