A bus welding solution for electrically connecting a bus to battery cell terminals within a battery system is disclosed. An exemplary method may include performing a weld repair operation. The weld repair operation may include creating a repair bead at a weld repair zone of the bus bar. The weld repair zone may include an area where the bus bar is covered by the pressing device during the pressing operation and the main welding operation of the method.
